I Have a Shelter
Shawna recently shared a wonderful song with me. Here are the lyrics:
I Have a Shelter
I have a shelter in the storm
When troubles pour upon me
Though fears are rising like a flood
My soul can rest securely
O Jesus, I will hide in You
My place of peace and solace
No trial is deeper than Your love
That comforts all my sorrows
I have a shelter in the storm
When all my sins accuse me
Though justice charges me with guilt
Your grace will not refuse me
O Jesus, I will hide in You
Who bore my condemnation
I find my refuge in Your wounds
For there I find salvation
I have a shelter in the storm
When constant winds would break me
For in my weakness, I have learned
Your strength will not forsake me
O Jesus, I will hide in You
The One who bears my burdens
With faithful hands that cannot fail
You’ll bring me home to heaven
Isn’t that beautiful? Sovereign Grace Music has made a free download of the song available here.
What a fabulous post!
from my friend Kathy: A picture compliation so well fitted with words from Oh! The Places You’ll Go.
Love that winter squash!
Here is the majority of our winter squash harvest (some have already been eaten). Four cookie sheets of pie pumpkins are baking now; I plan to bake, puree and freeze most of them over the next week or so, saving some seeds for next year and roasting the rest. What a great result from $6 in heirloom seeds! Kudos to Baker Creek Seeds.
Bloggity Update
I’m still needing to write about the last week or two, but I did manage to update my photo blog with a bunch of pictures. Enjoy!
Amazing!
This is a phenomenal performance by Phil Keaggy of Salvation Army Band. Rick, from Cumberland Books/Dry Creek Chronicles, posted it out of his current fascination with “looping,” a technique that allows a solo artist to “turn his solo guitar into a guitar army.” I sat here with my mouth open through much of it – great stuff!

And underneath…
And I appreciated this passage someone quoted in the comments section:
Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.
Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.
Psalm 73:23-26
