Hooked

Two weeks ago, some friends hosted a Tea and Crochet afternoon. I’ve been wanting to learn to crochet for a while, and was excited but nervous about learning how. Well, Kristen (by whom I sat) is a great teacher, Kathy (whom I’ve watched crochet for several years now) is a terrific example of what you can do with crochet. And I think it’s safe to say I’m hooked!

I love that crochet is a portable craft that takes up a small amount of space, can be easily picked up and put down, and is fun! I’ve been enjoying learning some new beginner stuff from crochet.about.com and am looking forward to seeing Kathy again so she can show me how to make head scarves.

Here’s the cute little basket I picked up at the resale shop for my crochet stuff, with a couple little things I’ve done. The multi-colored piece is a washcloth, the darker piece below it is a hotpad:

Don’t Leave the Yeast!

I left my yeast last Saturday and went to change the little man. As usual, I got sidetracked by His Cuteness, and came dashing back a while later to find this:

The moral of the story – Don’t leave the yeast. The baby is much cuter and you won’t get back in time.

Can You See ‘Em?

If you look close, you can barely see his two little nubbin’ teeth on the bottom in the very front. Don’t be fooled by the bubbles by his gum on the right of the picture! I took a bunch of pictures trying to catch those teeth, but just couldn’t quite get it.
I realized this morning he has two teeth almost coming through up top. Funny thing is, it’s not the middle two, it’s the next two out from the center! That’s going to look pretty funny if they really pop through first. 🙂
